I’ve watched the first two episodes and while there’s clearly an attempt here to create a show about “space scoundrels”, what’s so wrong with that? This is a very different take on the history of the Star Wars universe. I like the look and feel of a suburban town in this world because we’ve never seen one. The town they’re from reminded me of E.T.’s neighborhood more than anything we’ve seen in recent showings. The four main characters are typical but fun, each of them has clearly defined roles in the group and are well played by the cast. The pirate vibe may have never been seen before and adds a scary element and dangerous atmosphere. If this were an 80s movie, it would have been perfect here. So far I’m enjoying the new storytelling elements of the Star Wars universe, the nostalgic feel of my childhood movies, and the chance to share this Star Wars series experience with my kids.
